Germany has one of the highest ratios of online consumers in Europe. By 2011 Forrester Research estimates that 43 milion German consumers will buy online, resulting in eCommerce sales of € 62 billion. Also the European Information Technology Oberservatory (EITO) expects a further increase in eCommerce sales. 

The eCommerce market for consumer electronics, which is the market in which getmobile, preiswerthandy, premingo and pauldirekt operate was estimated at € 13,2 billion in 2008.
